CAWIC national conference empowers women in construction
The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) will host its 2nd national conference from Sept. 16 to 18 at the Markham Hilton, under the theme “Breaking Barriers – Building Futures.” The event celebrates CAWIC’s 20th anniversary and continues its mission of empowering women in the construction industry.
CAWIC is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the advancement of women in construction by fostering educational opportunities, building impactful connections, and providing resources to help women thrive in their careers.
“As a third-generation roadbuilder and a woman working in construction, I’m so proud to bring an event of this calibre to other women in the industry, and I can honestly say this event really makes a difference,” said Jamie West, CAWIC conference chair.
The conference opens on September 16 with a welcome reception featuring speeches from the CAWIC president and conference chairs, and will give attendees ample opportunity to network and connect.
On September 17-18, attendees begin with a wellness session, followed by keynote presentations and breakout sessions that focus on leadership, skill enhancement, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the many exhibitors from across the construction sector, including major construction companies, service providers, allied associations, educational institutions, and innovators in safety, PPE, technology, and sustainability.
