Bradford Bypass, Hwy. 413 projects moving ahead
Major construction of the Bradford Bypass is expected to begin this spring and construction of Hwy. 413 is expected to start this fall, York Region is reporting.
The Bradford Bypass is a priority 16.3-kilometre controlled-access, four-lane freeway that will connect Hwy. 400 in Simcoe County and Hwy. 404 in York Region. Construction is expected to be completed by 2030.
The Hwy. 413 project will connect Hwy. 400 in York Region to Hwy. 401 and Hwy. 407 Express Toll Route (407 ETR) in Halton and Peel Regions. York Region didn’t announce an anticipated completion date.
The provincial government has engaged Regional and local municipal staff throughout planning for both projects, which are included in York Region’s Transportation Master Plan. The plan looks ahead 30 years and considers the Region’s transportation infrastructure needs to support growth and the changing needs of travellers. York Region reviews the plan every five years to ensure the Regional transportation network meets the needs of motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and transit riders. The most recent plan was approved by Regional Council in 2022.
