Annual Christmas Giving Fair returns
The Christmas Giving Fair (CGF) returns for its 5th annual celebration, presented by the youth programs of Saints Panteleimon, Anna & Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church in Markham (GOC Markham).
On December 6, the CGF will bring the community together at GOC Markham for a full day of family fun and holiday giving.
This indoor–outdoor afternoon event offers a festive holiday atmosphere with a DJ playing Christmas songs, a visit from Santa, jumping castle, face painting, food trucks and more.
The community can donate new toys and clothing, gift cards, non-perishable food, and baby necessities. Donations will support York Region Police Holiday Heroes, St. John the Compassionate Mission, and Greek Orthodox Family Social Services.
“Christmas brings us the opportunity to share goodwill, joy and the philanthropic ministries that are core to our Greek Orthodox Christian beliefs,” said Maria Athanasoulas, co-chair at GOC Markham.
“Our youth are (central) to this event in organizing and promoting it, and actively engaged in extensive merriment of the day, present to accept donations, and share in thanking those who attend,” Athanasoulas added. “In return, we simply have the joy in knowing that we have helped.”
