TD Tree Days event brings community together

Markham residents joined forces with TD staff and members of The Friends of the Rouge Watershed (FWR) to plant 220 trees and 110 plants and shrubs at the 14th Annual TD Tree Days event at Austin Drive Park.
FRW’s general manager, Jim Robb, emphasized the collective power of these efforts, stating, “When you divide a huge problem like climate change or biodiversity and everyone does their part, together we can have a really big impact for the better.”
The City of Markham works with FRW to identify sites along the Rouge River and its tributaries for restoration of public land, which would provide clean water, air, and biodiversity.
FRW educates about how to plant and why planting events like these impact the community.
