Having fun, making friends, getting active and connecting with nature are all the name of the game at Pop-Up Park Programs that will be offered at 32 parks across Markham this summer.
Registration is now open for all program dates from July 5 to 30 and beginning Tuesday, July 13 at 6:30 a.m., you can register for program dates from August 3 to 27. Each program is open to Markham residents aged six to 12 years and is 90 minutes long.
The program will support the development of your child’s physical literacy as part of the city’s ‘Markham in Motion’ program.
Kids can look forward to classic outdoor camp games and physical literacy activities modified to adhere to physical distancing protocols, as well as icebreakers, stories, brain games and creativity challenges.
The cost is $4.70 per child per program. Public health guidelines and protocols will be in place, including screening protocols and physical distancing. Equipment and supplies will be available for each participant’s personal use during the program. Registered participants must show confirmation of a completed COVID-19 online self-assessment upon arrival.
In the event of severe weather, the program will be cancelled and parents will be notified by email. Parents and/or guardians must remain on site. Participants should bring a hat, filled water bottle, sunscreen and a towel. Washrooms aren’t available at all park locations. If participants register within the same week of the program date, they should take registration confirmation.
