Do you want to learn how to play a new instrument? Do you have kids who want to try different instruments before committing to one? How about recording your own music or podcast?
Markham Public Library (MPL) recently announced its launch of the Musical Instrument Library at Markham Village Library on June 18.
Using your library card, you can borrow from a collection of musical instruments including guitars, violins, banjos, keyboards, drums and more for free.
In addition to the collection of instruments, MPL also has a state-of-the-art sound booth for you to record your own music or podcast.
MPL is committed to growing a community of learners through all stages of life by providing support for formal education and encouraging learning beyond the academic experience.
The music instrument library offers community members the opportunity to explore different instruments and inspires them to learn and grow. This also helps to build a thriving city as music is known to have a positive impact on the mental, physical and emotional health of people.
