MBT announces latest award recipients
Markham Board of Trade (MBT) recently announced the recipients of the 30th Annual Business Excellence Awards, the 8th Annual ASPIRE Awards and the Anthony Roman Award.
“Although our event was virtual, the achievements recognized by these awards are very real. I’d like to congratulate all the recipients and finalists, and thank our generous sponsors for their continued support to make our event possible this year,” stated Markham Board of Trade CEO Richard Cunningham. “The award’s selection committee, under the leadership of Andrew Baldwin, deserve added recognition for overcoming extraordinary challenges in reviewing the nominations and determining the 2020 recipients.”
The 2020 Business Excellence Awards were presented to: McOuat Partnership for Business Employer of Excellence; AMD for Community Involvement & Cultural Enrichment; Microart Services for Entrepreneurship; NextDoor Restaurant for Food Service & Hospitality; Vexos Inc. for Global Business Excellence; Markham Stouffville Hospital for High Quality and Service; Sterile Care Inc. for Innovation; and MK Disability Lawyers LLP for Women Led Business.
The Anthony Roman Award, which honors an individual who is both a community leader and a successful business person, was presented to Vivian Risi, Royal LePage Your Community Realty, Brokerage.
The Board of Trade ASPIRE Awards recognize Markham’s business leaders and young professionals under the age of 40. The 2020 recipients are: Erich Ko from Hop In for Professional Excellence; Leo Wong from SCENIC Coffee + Brunch for Community Involvement; and Mayu Ganesathas from SV Robotics Academy for Startup.
