The Markham Job Fair, held April 19 at the Aaniin Community Centre, was organized by Regional Councillor Alan Ho and co-hosted by Active Community Engagement (A.C.E.).
The event attracted a large number of job seekers and community members, serving as an important platform for connecting residents with local employment opportunities.
The job fair brought together employers from a variety of industries, giving attendees the chance to meet face-to-face with representatives from organizations including York Region, York Region Transit, York Region Paramedic Services and the Markham Fire and Emergency Services, along with more than a dozen local companies.
Ho emphasized that the fair created valuable opportunities for job seekers, particularly youth exploring entry-level roles and career pathways.
“The fair was lively, with around 500 job seekers participating, demonstrating the community’s strong interest in local employment opportunities,” Ho said. “Overall, the event received positive feedback and contributed to the vitality of the local job market.”
