Main Street Unionville undergoes transformative restoration
Main Street Unionville is undergoing an exciting transformation, ensuring its timeless charm continues to shine for generations to come.
This cherished historic district, known for its picturesque streets, vibrant local businesses, and rich heritage, is being carefully restored to enhance its beauty while preserving its historic charm.
The restoration project focuses on improving infrastructure while maintaining the integrity of Unionville’s historical landmarks.
With upgrades to pedestrian pathways, heritage building restorations, and enhanced public spaces, visitors and residents alike will experience an even more inviting and enjoyable atmosphere.
Phase 1 will bring significant improvements, including the restoration of sidewalks, boulevards, and the roadway from the intersection of Carlton Road to 166 Main Street Unionville. While this section of Main Street Unionville will remain closed until August 13, pedestrian access to businesses will remain open, ensuring visitors can continue to support local businesses and enjoy all that Main Street Unionville has to offer. Phase 2, which includes the area just south of 166 Main Street down to Fred Varley Drive, is set to start in August and be complete by the end of the year.
As the Main Street Restoration project unfolds, supporting Main Street Unionville’s local businesses is more important than ever.
“These small, independent shops, restaurants, and services are the heart of the community, and your continued support helps them thrive during this transitional period,” said Unionville BIA executive director Sonia Chow. “Whether you’re picking up a coffee, shopping for a gift, or enjoying a patio meal, every visit makes a difference.”
