Free Park and Play Fun Tour returns this summer

Markham’s travelling recreation program featuring giant board games, mini sports, inflatable ride-on animals and an ice cream truck returns to parks throughout the city this summer.

“We are delighted to bring back the Park and Play Fun Tour, bringing exciting and engaging activities directly to our community parks,” Mayor Frank Scarpitti says of the program, which is running for the second consecutive year.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to providing enriching, free recreational opportunities for children and families in Markham,” Scarpitti says. “We look forward to seeing our parks filled with laughter and joy all summer long.”

The program is for children ages four to 12 and runs on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from July 10 to Aug. 28.

“This program reflects our commitment to fostering vibrant community connections and providing accessible recreational opportunities for all children,” says Commissioner of Community Services Morgan Jones.

“The Park and Play Fun Tour also gives our attendees an opportunity to learn more about other City of Markham services, as there will be activations from various city departments.”
