Markhaven’s Colours of Autumn returns for ninth annual luncheon and fashion show
Markhaven Home for Seniors’ signature event is back with style for its ninth year: the Colours of Autumn Luncheon and Fashion Show on Oct 21 at Crystal Fountain Event Venue.
The afternoon event includes a lunch, local business vendor booths, a silent auction and an exciting fashion show.
“Colours of Autumn is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, enjoy a beautiful afternoon and support a cause that has such a direct impact on local seniors,” says April Garcia, director of fundraising for the Markhaven Foundation.
Proceeds will benefit capital and infrastructure needs, as well as recreation and resident programming.
Many residents living at Markhaven have dementia, and these recreation and resident programs include activities that provide cognitive stimulation, movement, connection, art, music, entertainment and more.
“When we think about the future of Markhaven, we want to think beyond simply providing care,” Garcia says. “We want our residents to continue experiencing life—to have opportunities to connect, participate, laugh and make meaningful memories.
“Fundraising gives us the ability to invest in the home itself while also creating those important moments for our residents.”
