YSpace in Markham is expanding its brand to include YSpace Digital, York University’s virtual innovation hub, and a central touchpoint for students, faculty, alumni, and community members.
YSpace Digital will be York University’s virtual talent and startup development hub, offering programming support, mentorship, and knowledge development opportunities. This will provide a platform to collaborate, learn, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset, allowing individuals to embrace the changing work landscape and explore opportunities to ideate, launch, and grow their own business ventures.
“Since the pandemic, we’ve seen overall interest in our programs more than triple,” says David Kwok, Associate Director of Entrepreneurship at YSpace. “As we all adjusted to the new normal and shifted our programs online, we began to see a steep rise in attendees from York University, York Region, GTA and even internationally from Australia, India, the United States, and Japan.
“At that moment, our team realized that we could provide a whole new suite of services and programming virtually to reach a much larger audience and make entrepreneurship more accessible. The natural next step was to expand the YSpace brand and launch YSpace Digital for all of our programming that was better suited to virtual delivery.”
YSpace Digital is a virtual innovation hub offering a variety of programs and services to help entrepreneurs and innovators within the community gain the knowledge and skills needed to validate, launch, and grow their businesses.”
