YRP seeks owners of property recovered from recent B&E incidents
Investigators with York Regional Police’s Integrated Property Crime Task Force are releasing images of stolen items recovered during an investigation known as Project Dora in an effort to return the property to its rightful owners.
The investigation began in December 2025 after a series of residential break-and-enter incidents were reported in the cities of Markham, Richmond Hill and Vaughan.
Police say three suspects have been charged, and investigators have linked them to 14 residential break-ins across York Region since the investigation began.
During the investigation, officers recovered numerous items believed to be stolen. Police have created a Dropbox folder containing photos of property that has not yet been returned to its owners. Residents who experienced a residential break-in between December 2025 and February 2026 are encouraged to review the images and contact investigators if they recognize any of the items.
Police note that a verification process will be required before any property can be returned.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police Integrated Property Crime Task Force at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7232, or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at 1800222tips.com.
York Regional Police is reminding the public to always maintain the appearance that their residences are occupied. Follow these six steps to protect your home from a break and enter.
