Suspects sought following home invasion robberies in Markham

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking suspects and any witnesses following two separate home invasion robberies in the City of Markham.

On Monday, November 14, 2022, just after 5 a.m. officers responded to an address on Taurasi Court for a report of a home invasion. Officers learned that at approximately 4 a.m., three suspects forced their way into the home through the back door. Police say that two of the suspects were armed with handguns, and one had a hammer; the suspects stole a quantity of cash and other property before they fled the scene in a vehicle.

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, just before 3:30 a.m, police responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a home invasion at a residence on Hollingham Road in Markham. The victim reported that four masked male suspects smashed through a back door and demanded money.  Police say that two of the suspects were armed with handguns, and one was armed with a hatchet; the suspects stole several items from the home before they fled from the scene in a vehicle.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in either of these incidents. At this time, investigators are working to determine if these two incidents are linked. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

York Regional Police wants to remind citizens to always keep their doors locked and consider installing a loud, audible alarm system in their homes. YRP encourages citizens to report any incidents of home invasions as quickly as possible.
