Strike a pose on IWD to #BreakTheBias

As part of International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, you’re encouraged to cross your arms – the IWD 2022 pose – to show solidarity with the campaign to #BreakTheBias.

“Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead,” the IWD website explains.

“Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. Action is needed to level the playing field,”

As part of this year’s campaign, you’re also asked to share your #BreakTheBias image, video, resources, presentation or articles on social media using #IWD2022 #BreakTheBias to encourage people to commit to helping forge an inclusive world.

You can download and print out IWD selfie cards or use a powerpoint version for easy text editing, logo insertion and printing.

IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and calls for action to accelerate gender parity. The first IWD gathering was held in 1911 and was supported by more than a million people.

It’s considered one of the most important days of the year to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about women’s equality, lobby for accelerated gender parity and fundraise for female-focused charities.

IWD has created several missions that are designed, among other things, to highlight and applaud where important gains are being made and celebrate women’s achievements and accomplishments. Examples of those missions include Women in Technology and Women in Sport.
