MICA celebrates Diwali

The Markham Indian Canadian Association (MICA) recently hosted a vibrant “Festival of Lights-Diwali” at the Angus Glen Community Centre.

The event featured traditional food, music, dance, and games, celebrating Diwali’s message that light triumphs over darkness and the values of faith, hope, and unity.

Special guest Ward 7 Councillor Juanita Nathan joined the festivities and lit the Diwali lamp.

“MICA is a dynamic organization dedicated to serving the vibrant Indian community,” said Renu, a core committee member. “Our group consists of professionals from diverse fields united by a common goal to enrich our community through cultural exchange, professional development and community service.”
