Markham trustee re-elected public school board chair

Markham Trustee Ron Lynn says it’s “truly at honour” to be re-elected York Region District School Board (YRDSB) Chair for the fourth year at its inaugural meeting December 1.

“I am deeply grateful to my colleagues for their continued trust and collaboration,” he says.

Pamela McCarthy was elected Board Vice-Chair; Robert Kolosowski was elected Finance and Property Standing Committee Chair; Cindy Liang was elected Learning, Equity and Well-Being Standing Committee Chair; Michael Chen was elected Policy and By-Law Standing Committee Chair; and Nadeem Mahmood and Dr. Elizabeth Sinclair were elected to the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association – Board of Directors.

“Sincere congratulations to my fellow trustees on their re-elections and elections into their roles,” says Lynn. “As a united Board, we remain grounded in strong, stable and transparent governance. This is how we show our unwavering commitment to student achievement and well-being connected to our Multi-Year Strategic Plan and District Action Plan.
