Markham student scores 100% grade point average

Local students recognized for top marks by York Region District School Board (YRDSB).

Vivienne Liao from Millikin Mills Secondary School graduated with a perfect grade point average, joining Matthew Weinstein from Westmount Collegiate Institute in Thornhill as the only two students in YRDSB to achieve 100 per cent.

Following behind by only a fraction of a per cent are Victor Yee from Markham District High School and Chris Fu from Stouffville District Secondary School, placing comfortably among the top 10 in YRDSB.

“Congratulations to each of these students on their outstanding accomplishments. Earning one of the highest averages is a remarkable achievement that reflects years of hard work, dedication and commitment to learning, supported by YRDSB families and educators,” said Ron Lynn, Chair of the Board. “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I congratulate these top scholars and wish all of our students continued success in the future.”

York Region District School Board (YRDSB) is the third-largest school district in Ontario, with 216 schools. York Region students consistently perform above average in provincial testing.
