Markham scholarship seeks applicants
Markham students pursuing digital creativity in arts, design, development or marketing are invited to apply for a $1,500 scholarship towards their post-secondary studies.
The Kevin Doherty Scholarship for Digital Creativity is awarded annually to recognize one student who has shown outstanding dedication to the digital arts or marketing disciplines.
“This scholarship was born from a 35-year friendship that began in high school,” says NVISION President and CEO George Arabian, “Kevin, my dear friend and business partner, was a visionary in design and creativity. After losing him to cancer, I wanted to honour his legacy by supporting the next generation of digital creatives – something I know would have made him proud.”
Applicants must be enrolled at a Canadian institution in programs that include but are not limited to digital illustration, web design, graphic design, user experience, copywriting, marketing and communications. Applicants must submit a personal statement, a high school or college/university transcript, letter of recommendation from an educator, instructor, employer or coach and three portfolio samples with the name of the instructor for each project.
If you have any questions, you’re encouraged to reach out to scholarship supervisor Petrija at [email protected].
