Library opens three more branches

The Markham Public Library has reopened the Aaniin, Angus Glen and Thornhill Community Centre branches and is offering additional in-person services at all six open branches, including the Markham Village Library, Thornhill Village Library and Unionville Library.

That means you’ll once again be able to browse the library’s physical collections, book its study rooms and book appointments to use its computers to browse the internet, print or scan.

Holds can be picked up from inside of the branch and curbside pickup remains available upon request. You can return your library materials using the drop box outside of the library or in person at the service desk and  sign up for a library card at any of the open branches.

Computer bookings are limited to one hour per day. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is only available on computers at Aaniin Library, Unionville Library or any computer in a ‘LAB’ area. Book a computer through PC Reservation or by calling 905-513-7977. All study rooms are available but must be reserved through staff by phone or Live Chat. Capacity is limited to one individual per room or, where stated, up to two individuals from the same household. Each study room is available for two hours per individual or group per day. The Children’s Area at all six locations is open with limited seating.

The library is also offering Curbside 3D Printing. You can request Grab & Go bags online and pick them up in the library and can continue to enjoy online services, including Digital Library, Online Learning, Virtual Programs and Live Chat.

Before entering the library, you’ll need to take the COVID-19 self-screening test online. When accessing library branches, you’ll need to provide proof of vaccination. You’re required to wear a mask or face covering while inside the library or waiting in line outside.
