On Nov. 6, Yellow Brick House’s 2022 Break the Silence – Step in My Shoes Walk returns Nov. 6.
This is a signature annual fundraising walk event for Yellow Brick House. The event will raise funds to support Yellow Brick House’s life-saving support services and prevention programs for women and children impacted by violence and abuse.
The goal is to raise $100,000, with every $150 raised providing a night of safety for a woman or a child affected by violence and abuse. The event also raises awareness about the devastating impact of violence on our community.
Since the pandemic began, there has been a 30 per cent increase in domestic violence. Coming together for the survivors in our community is more important than ever.
“Yellow Brick House provides a safe haven for women and children to escape violent and abusive homes,” said Lorris Herenda, CEO of Yellow Brick House. “By walking to celebrate their strength, we can show these women and children how much they matter, how much you care, and make their safety a priority, maybe for the first time in their lives.”
Join the movement with Yellow Brick House on Nov. 6 at the St. Andrews College Campus to break the silence against violence. The Break The Silence Step in My Shoes Walk starts at 10 a.m. with family-fun activities and entertainment.
