‘Travel far and wide’ at Family Fun Fest

You’re invited to “travel far and wide” this summer without ever leaving home.

That’s the theme of Markham Public Library’s Family Fun Fest at the Aaniin Library on Tuesday, July 14 from 1 to 4 p.m.

As part of a STEAM Challenge, participants will make their own boat using various materials and test it out. At the arts/craft station, they’ll design their own car. Join the racetrack using mini pull-back cars. Activities also include a duck race with straws. Enjoy a variety of outdoor games and activities, such as ring toss, hot potato sack race and badminton – all weather dependent.

A host of organizations will offer interactive activities, including Markham Fire Services, York Regional Police and Markham Cycles. Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s Multicultural Connections Program will feature touch and feel for various animal artifacts, while Study Buddy will host a STEM Trivia Game. Enjoy a car demonstration and repair workshop offered in partnership with Centennial College.

The Aaniin Branch is located at 5665 14th Ave. Activities are subject to change. Registration is required.
