As International Women’s Day (IWD) approaches, organizations are encouraged to create their own #ChooseToChallenge campaign, while individuals can strike the #ChooseToChallenge pose and share it on social media.
“A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change,” says the team at InternationalWomensDay.com. “So let’s all choose to challenge. How will you help forge a gender equal world? Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.”
Held annually on March 8, IWD is a global day that celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. The first IWD gathering was held in 1911.
The IWD website offers numerous ways you and/or your organization or group can celebrate IWD, such as #ChooseToChallenge bias at work with the IWD 50 Ways to Fight Bias presentation. Create your own #ChooseToChallenge social media cards to share across social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn or create #ChooseToChallenge selfie cards to promote action via social media.
UN Women’s IWD 2021 theme is Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world. “The theme celebrates the tremendous efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization says.
