Schulich scholarship supports local students’ academic success
Exceptional achievement in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) has earned six York Region District School Board (YRDSB) students Schulich Leader Scholarships to support their post-secondary studies.
The Schulich Foundation is one of Canada’s largest foundations, having committed over $500 million to philanthropic endeavours. Over 6,000 scholarships are awarded annually to students in Schulich Schools.
Each YRDSB recipient plans to pursue studies in STEM fields, with interests ranging from engineering and computer science to health sciences and research innovation.
The following students have been named Schulich Leaders: Brooklynn Gonyea, Bill Crothers S.S; Eli Temes, Stephen Lewis S.S.; John Wang, Dr. G.W. Williams S.S.; Nathaniel Moodie, Stephen Lewis S.S.; Matthew Weinstein, Westmount C.I.; and Shanzeh Haji, Bayview S.S.
