Markham welcomes ‘innovative’ senior leaders

A group of “highly-respected and experienced professionals” will be joining the City of Markham’s senior leadership team.

Morgan Jones has been appointed Commissioner of Community Services, Alice Lam will serve as Director of Operations, Frank Clarizio is the new Director of Engineering and Eddy Wu has been appointed Director of Environmental Services.

“Joining our senior leadership team is a roster of highly respected and experienced professionals that have either grown within our organization or have decided to join our team, with a combined commitment to innovation and service excellence,” says CAO Andy Taylor. “With each appointment comes decades of industry experience that will greatly serve our organization and the community,” Mayor Frank Scarpitti says.

Jones has worked with the City in a variety of roles since 1991, most recently as Director of Operations. He has earned a reputation as a leader in adopting innovation and fostering sustainable practices that have brought recognition to Markham.

Lam rejoins the city from Metrolinx and has been instrumental in pioneering new innovative technologies to improve service standards. She previously served as Senior Manager, Roads, Survey and Utility. 

Clarizio previously served as Director, Design and Construction, Municipal Infrastructure and Gardiner Expressway Rehabilitation with the City of Toronto. Wu previously served as Acting Director and prior to that, Manager of Waterworks Operations and Maintenance.

Additionally, Chief Adam Grant of Markham Fire and Emergency Services is joining the Executive Leadership Team and will report directly to the CAO Andy Taylor.
