Markham Pickleball Club serves up $30,000 for food bank

The Markham Pickleball Club (MPC) has wrapped up another successful Pickleball for Possibilities Charity Event. This annual initiative brings together residents in support of the Markham Food Bank.

The event is a two‑day community fundraiser that featured friendly pickleball games, a raffle, and a silent auction. 

The MPC raised $30,000, thanks to an exemplary turnout that surpassed last year’s $28,000 donation.

“They’ve done fantastic at providing donations to the Markham Food Bank, [and] they’ve done it for the last three years, “said Stephen Law, president of the Markham Food Bank. “We have 2,500 individuals that we support at the Markham Food Bank with food insecurity, and this is a great support for us”.

Hundreds came out over the weekend to take part in the festivities, driven by the community’s love for Pickleball.
