Markham Cycling Day returns
Dust off your bike helmets. Markham Cycling Day, York Region’s largest free public cycling event, returns on Sunday, June 14.
Founded in 2008, the event features the Tour de Markham, a family-friendly ride offering routes of various distances throughout the city.
The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a new location near Millennium Bandstand on Main Street at Fred Varley Drive in Unionville. It also includes interactive and fun bicycle races for young children, as well as exhibitors and entertainment. All participants must wear a helmet and have a bike bell equipped on their bicycle. All bicycles must be in good working order. For safety reasons, motor-assisted e-bikes, balance bikes or bikes with training wheels are not allowed.
