Markham companies with Most Trusted Executive Teams
Two Markham-based companies – Aviva Canada and Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. – have been recognized by Great Place to Work® Canada as among the Best Workplaces™ with the Most Trusted Executive Teams of 2025.
“This recognition celebrates leaders who build trust through authenticity, transparency and integrity,” Great Place to Work says. “These organizations cultivate a culture of confidence, open communication and people-first leadership.”
Aviva Canada is one of the leading property and casualty insurance groups in the country, providing home, automobile, lifestyle and business insurance to more than three million customers. Ninety per cent of its employees say it’s a great place to work compared to 60 per cent of employees at a typical Canadian organization.
“Prioritizing our people’s wellbeing helps us to be there for our customers,” says CEO Tracy Garrad. “At Aviva, our culture emphasizes the importance of mental health and wellness. Together, our inclusive culture and comprehensive wellbeing benefits ensure that Aviva Canada is not only a great place to work, but a place where people can succeed by being themselves.”
Hyundai entered the Canadian market in 1983 and has grown into one of the best-selling and award-winning foreign vehicle manufacturers in Canada. Ninety-one per cent of its employees say it’s a great place to work compared to 60 per cent of employees at a typical Canadian organization.
Hyundai attributes its success to the company’s commitment to its product and a customer experience that exceeds expectations. “We are committed to creating a work environment where our team members are excited to come to work to help deliver this promise,” it says.
To be eligible for this list, organizations must have at least 100 employees. Great Place to Work Canada determined the best based on employee responses to Trust Index statements evaluating leadership effectiveness and confidence in the executive team.
