Lunch, fashion show to benefit Markhaven Seniors

The Colours of Autumn will be celebrated at a luncheon and fashion show to benefit the Markhaven Foundation.

You can attend the event in person and enjoy a three-course lunch and take part in a silent auction, have a chance to win door and raffle prizes, and shop with a unique selection of vendors.

Tickets are $85 per person.

If you’d like to make a donation but can’t attend, you can make an online donation.  A tax receipt will be issued and donations of $75 or more will be entered in a raffle. Ticket purchases and donations can be made at markhamven.ca.

The event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Crystal Fountain at 60 McDowell Gate in Markham. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for shopping and socializing. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and will be followed by the fashion show featuring apparel from local shops, including Eleven Joseph, Peppertree Klassics, Eight on Main, Hartman 85 Main and Jillian’s.

All proceeds will go to the Markhaven Foundation, which is the fundraising arm of Markhaven Home for Seniors. Established in 1999, the Foundation’s purpose is to raise funds to further the objectives of Markhaven Home for Seniors, which has been caring for the elderly in Markham and surrounding communities since 1960.

This year, the foundation is raising funds for a nursery therapy room in its Alzheimer’s Unit, as well as resident transfer slings and resident art supplies.
