Registration for students who will attend kindergarten at the York Catholic District School Board beginning in September is now open.
Children born in 2018 can register in junior kindergarten and those born in 2018 can register in senior kindergarten. Students currently attending junior kindergarten at a York Catholic school don’t need to re-register for senior kindergarten.
York Catholic’s kindergarten program teaches children through inquiry and play-based learning methods and helps children develop a solid foundation for future learning and growth by supporting their spiritual development and enhancing their social, emotional, cognitive, language and academic skills, the Board reports.
Teachers and Early Childhood Educators work together in to support the unique needs of each child.
Parents and/or guardians can register their child for kindergarten at www.ycdsb.ca/admissions and will need to upload their child’s baptismal certificate from a Roman Catholic Church or a Catholic Church in Communion with the Holy See of Rome (child or parent).
You must also upload proof of each of the following: child’s age, status in Canada, residency and separate school support (such as a Municipal Property Assessment Corporation Assessment Notice or a completed Direction of School Support).
To find the kindergarten program in your area, use the online school locator at locator.ycdsb.ca or call the Admissions Department at 905-713-2711 or 416-221-5050.
