Fishing and hunting licensing services goes digital

Ontario is revamping its fishing and hunting licensing services, making it easier for anglers and hunters to get licenses and tags.

Upon the launch of FishHuntOn in early 2027, the service will create an easier way to access licensing services. The new free mobile app will be created to better accommodate outdoor sportsmen.

“Our new FishHuntON platform will make accessing licences and tags easier than ever, so people can spend more time doing what they love and exploring the great outdoors,” said Mike Harris, Minister of Natural Resources.

FishHuntOn will provide nearly 1.5 million anglers and hunters with new ways to keep track of their licenses and tags. The app will provide a more convenient way to purchase/renew documents through in-app storage, allowing you to access your cards virtually with or without cellular service.

“Our government is delivering more modern services for those across our province,” said Stephen Crawford, Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. “FishHuntON will streamline access to Outdoors Cards, licences and tags while expanding convenient digital options, making it easier for anglers and hunters to access the services they need.”
