Community celebrates 25th anniversary

The residents of Swan Lake Village attended a gathering at the Village’s Swan Club to celebrate the 25th year since the first residents moved into their new homes in this unique adult-lifestyle gated community in east Markham.

Over 300 residents gathered to celebrate this milestone event in the history of Swan Lake Village. It was the first opportunity since the covid pandemic restricted activities at the village for residents to get together in such a large group.

The celebration opened with the city’s Town Crier, John Webster, bellowing out a proclamation announcing this special day in the history of Swan Lake Village.

The celebration included displays in the Swan Club Facility of posters illustrating the over 30+ activities that take place at the Village; displayed incredibly professional paintings from the members of the Village’s Palette Club and the playing of videos which reminded residents of the history and wildlife surrounding this beautiful community.

The residents enjoyed entertainment provided by the Village’s own Swan Lake Jammers and music by a duet called the 40 Something’s.

Ward 5 Councillor Andrew Keyes congratulated the Village on reaching it’s 25th year and said that he was proud to be representing such an incredible community.

All who attended had a great time and were glad to be able to see their neighbours in a party setting after a two year hiatus of being able to do so.
