Cineplex showcases Fresh off Markham film

The Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival has announced the international distribution deal for the feature film Fresh Off Markham, a brilliant Canadian-based creation by 9lb Films Inc.

Facilitated by Reel Asian, this collaboration with local distributor CHIME ensures the film’s potential theatrical release in Canada and international markets in the first quarter of 2025.

As an official selection of Reel Asian, Fresh Off Markham premiered in North America on November 15 at the festival, drawing a full-house audience and leaving a lasting impression. The film’s unique blend of heartfelt storytelling and dark humour has captivated viewers, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated theatrical debut.

The official release date is January 17. The film is available in York Region at Cineplex Cinemas Markham and Silvercity Richmond Hill.
