Canada Strong Pass opens doors to affordable summer adventures
The federal government is helping Canadian families explore the country without breaking the bank. With a few weeks left in the program, families have a golden opportunity right at their doorstep.
The Canada Strong Pass offers more than just savings—it’s an invitation to discover Canada’s natural and cultural treasures. Until September 2, admission is free for everyone at all national historic sites, parks, and marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada—no advance registration required.
Families can enjoy even more perks: camping fees are reduced by 25 per cent for tents, RVs, and backcountry stays, while current Parks Canada Discovery Pass holders get an automatic three-month extension at no extra cost.
With VIA Rail on board, children and teens under 17 travel free with an adult, and young adults aged 18–24 receive 25 per cent off Escape and Economy fares.
The pass also provides free admission for children and teens under 17 at national museums and participating provincial institutions, while young adults receive 50 per cent off. Area highlights include the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
“Family summer days full of adventure create memories that last a lifetime,” said Tim Hodgson, Member of Parliament for Markham–Thornhill. “At a time when we’re all prouder than ever to be Canadian, the Canada Strong Pass is opening up new opportunities for Canadians to explore affordable experiences close to home and far away. This incredible program makes it easier than ever to explore all Canada has to offer.”
Outstanding adventures await you! In just a few hours, you can be exploring the stunning Thousand Islands National Park, birding in Point Pelee, or exploring Niagara’s historic sites.
