Aviva Canada a top employer for young people
Aviva Canada is among the Best Workplaces™ for Young Talent 2026 from Great Place To Work®, a list that recognizes organizations that go beyond the basics to create “meaningful, supportive experiences” for early-career professionals.
The workplaces invest in growth, mentorship and recognition, empowering young talent to build careers with purpose while driving innovation, engagement, and long-term success.
Markham-based Aviva Canada, a subsidiary of UK-based Aviva plc, is one of the leading property and casualty insurance groups in the country, providing home, automobile, lifestyle and business insurance to 2.5 million.
“To attract and retain young professionals, companies must meet certain expectations – opportunities for growth, fair compensation and a welcoming workplace culture,” says Great Place To Work. “But creating a great workplace for young talent goes beyond these basics. The Best Workplaces for Young Talent are committed to fostering environments where young professionals feel valued, empowered and supported,” it continues. “They ensure young employees see their contributions recognized, have clear career paths, and are equipped with mentorship and development opportunities to thrive. This dedication doesn’t just benefit employees – it drives innovation, engagement and long-term success.”
To be eligible for the list, a minimum of 90 per cent agreement is required for the statement: “People are treated fairly regardless of their age.” Also, at least 30 per cent of the employee population must be under 35 years of age and at least 50 employees must also be under 35.
