Art show celebrates flowers, women

Experience the fusion of art, culture and nature at a new art show and sale that celebrates the intertwined beauty of flowers and women.

Floral Inspirations: Women in Bloom will be held at the historic McKay Art Centre from Wednesday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 22.

Artist Tatiana Rusanovska was born and raised in Kremenchuk, Ukraine. She always liked to sketch as a child and was profoundly influenced by her grandmother, Taisia, who taught her to draw flowers. Rusanovska attended the local art school. “Through flowers, I express my vision of the surrounding world,” says the expressive artist, designer and award-winning illustrator.

The reception will be held Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. The gallery, located at 197 Main St., Unionville, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
