Nominations open for City of Markham Ward 7 councillor by-election
Elections are a cornerstone of our local democracy, and the upcoming Ward 7 by-election is an important opportunity for residents to have their say in who represents their community,” says Kimberley Kitteringham, City Clerk and Returning Officer for Elections Markham. “Whether you’re considering running for office or preparing to vote, Elections Markham is here to ensure the process is transparent, accessible, and easy to navigate.”
Candidate nominations open on June 30 at 8:30 a.m. and will be accepted until August 15 at 2 p.m.
Individuals interested in running must meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Candidates can register online using Elections Markham’s secure nomination portal. Step-by-step instructions on how to register as a candidate are available at electionsmarkham.ca/CandidateRegistration
Advance voting is available from Friday, September 26 to Sunday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voting day is September 29 from, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
