Markham swings in play structures repairs

Many playgrounds throughout the City are fenced off and ready for repairs.

Local park work is being done under two projects: AODA remediation and lifecycle replacement.

AODA’s goal through its work is to have play structures meet provincial accessibility requirements

Parks and other public facilities require renovations over time as equipment needs repairs. The lifecycle replacement project selected parks that need upgrades over the next 10 years, targeting play structures nearing the end of their service life.

The lifecycle replacement project also concerns tennis courts, baseball diamonds, and shade structures.

Multiple parks throughout all wards are being redeveloped; notably, the changes in Wismer Park are among the renovations, including a synthetic ice rink, new basketball courts, and new tennis/pickleball courts.
