Police seek witnesses following a stabbing that occurred in the Town of East Gwillimbury.
On Monday, June 15, 2020, shortly after 6 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on
Warden Avenue north of Herald Road. When officers arrived they found several people on
the property, one of whom, a 27-year-old man was suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. He
was transported to hospital where he remains.
Officers are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have not yet spoken
to police to please come forward. Investigators are also seeking any video surveillance from the
area or anyone that may have captured dashcam video on the roadways in the area of the incident.
York Regional Police reminds residents and business owners in our community they can partner with
us in community safety by signing up for the new Security Camera Registry. The Security Camera
Registry gives members of the community the option to let York Regional Police know they have
installed residential or commercial security cameras, which may assist police if a crime later
occurs in that area.
With just a couple of clicks, you can make your neighbourhood a safer place. Participants can visit
yrp.ca/RegisterMyCam and complete the brief online registration form to add their cameras to the
registry. Upon completing the form, participants will also be asked to verify their email address
in order to complete the registration.
