Wanted: failed bank robbery suspect

Police are on the lookout for a suspect who attempted to rob a Markham bank but fled on foot before obtaining any cash.

A man entered a bank near Steeles Ave. East and Woodbine Ave. at about 10 a.m. on Jan. 22 and demanded cash. York Regional Police report he fled the bank before obtaining any money and was last seen running eastbound along Steeles.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s. He has a thin build, is clean shaven and was wearing a navy blue sweater with the hood up, white track pants and light-coloured shoes.
