Two Liberal candidates nominated in York Region

MP Mary Ng and Leah Taylor Roy were recently announced among the first 20 nominated Liberal candidates in the country, and the first two Liberal candidates nominated in York Region.

Ng will be carrying the Liberal banner for the third time in Markham-Thornhill, and Taylor Roy will be running for the second time in Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill.

Over 40 years ago, Ng’s family chose to call Canada home. Over the course of her career, she has dedicated her life to making the opportunities of our country accessible to everyone. With more than 20 years of public service, Ng has first-hand experience in enhancing education, advocating for women’s leadership, expanding entrepreneurship in Canada, and helping companies export and grow.

“I am honoured to have once again earned the trust of local Liberals to represent our community in Parliament, and to work with Justin Trudeau to deliver support for Canadians and keep Canada moving forward,” Ng said. “Canadians want leadership that will keep working to build a Canada that is healthier and safer, cleaner and more competitive, and more inclusive for everyone. I’m looking forward to working hard to earn the support of families throughout Markham-Thornhill, one conversation at a time.”

Taylor Roy is business woman, entrepreneur and passionate Liberal. Her career has included stints with the World Bank, a multi-national consulting firm and as the Executive Vice President of an electrical co-generation company. She grew up in York Region, and currently resides in Aurora. She hopes to bring her education, business background and volunteer experience to support all the residents in the riding of Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill.
