Sweet sounds of a baby grand piano

The Flato Markham Theatre continues to deliver world-class talent in a high-class theatre.

Some of the many theatre improvements include the 2013 installation of new seats,  the recently created new stage and the beautiful baby grand piano that now seats in the lobby for guests to play a quick tune before enjoying their show.

Councillor Don Hamilton thought it would be a great idea for one of his neighbours to donate their piano to the theatre, rather than selling it.

“I was out jogging one day and stopped to say hello to Lora. She mentioned that she was going to sell her baby grand piano and I asked her to consider donating it to the Flato Markham Theatre. After some consideration, Lora and Phil made a great decision. Now their piano will serve many visiting artists to the FMT and will bring the joy of music to many Markham residents. I’m so thankful for generous residents like Lora and Phil,” said Councillor Hamilton.
