A provincial special investigations unit is examining the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Markham.
On the afternoon of Feb. 26, a York Regional Police officer, operating an unmarked vehicle, collided with a pedestrian at about 4:30 p.m. on Kennedy Road, north of Highway 7. The pedestrian was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Six investigators, three forensic investigators and one collision reconstruction expert have been assigned to the case. Police are urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529.
