Calling all aspiring youth artists! The annual Youth Showcase Concert is continuing this year on an online stage. Every Saturday in August, the concert will provide performance opportunities for youth artists under 25 who face age restrictions at other venues. This free month-long concert, founded by Toronto artist Senaida Ng, is in it’s second year and plans to continue to expand and showcase the talented youth in our area.
Kicking off on August 1st, the concert featured international artists such as Juniper from Massachusetts and The Groovin Souls all the way from Costa Brava, Spain. Alongside these musicians, the festival will feature singer-songwriters, rappers, and bands encompassing a variety of musical genres. Artists will be streaming on social media platforms and have opportunities to participate in exciting live events like Instagram takeovers.
On the final day of this festival, the Youth Showcase Concert will be donating to the NIA Centre for the Arts, a Toronto not-for-profit organization that provides resources and spaces for artists from the African diaspora. Donations will be collected through their website where $1 = 1 vote for the favourite performance of the Youth Showcase Concert lineup.
