Pop Up Parks, outdoor fun in Markham

The City of Markham is launching its Pop Up Parks Program which includes a series
of outdoor camp-like activities in local parks. It starts in July and will run in 24 neighbourhood
parks.

The city’s recreational staff will also provide a range of interactive and virtual
camps.

Markham is now issuing permits to sports organizations for outdoor sports fields for
practice only, and that includes soccer, baseball, and cricket. Outdoor basketball courts are also
being made available.

As the summer weather heats up, residents will be able to cool down as the city plans to open the splash pads by June 26.

The Pan Am Centre will have lane only swimming available starting July 10. In late July, Morgan Pool will be open for lane swimming, lessons, and aquafit programs.
