Police seek armed suspect wearing gorilla mask

York Regional Police are looking for a man who was carrying a gun and wearing a gorilla-like mask in a Vaughan bank robbery on June 15.

Officers were called to a bank in the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West area at about 1:10 p.m., after receiving a report of an armed robbery. The suspect entered the bank wearing the mask and brandishing a handgun, obtained a quantity of cash and fled the bank travelling eastbound on foot.

Police report no one was injured during the incident. The suspect is described as five feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing dark pants, dark long-sleeved shirt with hood pulled up and a gorilla-like mask over his face. He was carrying a black bag.
