Police officers brave the cold in Polar Plunge

More than 75 people were #FreezinForAReason at this year’s York Regional Police Association’s (YRPA) Polar Plunge, raising more than $24,000 to benefit Special Olympics Ontario (SOO) athletes. The theme was That 70s Night.

Participants pay a registration fee or fundraise the minimum requirement to take part in the Polar Plunge. They can plunge alone or as part of a group. Last year, the YRPA raised more than $30,000 for SOO.

Since 2015, the Ontario Polar Plunge has raised more than $1.5 million for SOO, an organization devoted to year-round sports and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
