Floating is a unique experience that allows you to de-stress and recharge. To float, you simply enter the specialized chamber and lie down in the water. The water in each of Float Valley’s four float tanks and two cabins contain 800 pounds of magnesium-rich Epsom salts. This dense solution allows you to float effortlessly to the top.
The float cabins and tanks give many of your senses a break, as they are completely light and sound proof (complete sensory deprivation). You can’t feel the water, as it is heated to the exact temperature of your skin. This environment puts your body into a state of profound relaxation.
Freed from the constant stress of gravity and external stimulation, the float chamber allows you to completely relax your body and mind. This reduced sensory environment has been researched by neuroscientists for its overwhelmingly positive effects on stress, anxiety, and pain. There is nothing like the complete stillness of floating.
Float Valley owner Nadeem Jiwani recently celebrated his company’s grand opening celebration. He was joined by many dignitaries, including MP Mary Ng, MPP Michael Chan, Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Deputy Mayor Jack Heath, Regional Councillor Nirmala Armstrong, and councillors Karen Rea and Allan Ho.
Jiwani grew up in the area and is happy to give back to the community. He will be donating 50 per cent of revenue from sales on Saturday, September 23 to Union Villa.
