October is Small Business Month and MPL is pleased to provide a wide array of virtual programs, webinars, and access to its vast collection of resources from its catalogue. MPL also offers digital resources like its online databases, periodicals and newspapers which can be helpful for research and staying on top of trends. Through the library’s online learning services such as UniversalClass and Learning Express, you can learn all about financial planning and budgeting so you can stay one step ahead with the financial health of your business in mind. Investment courses are also available which will teach you how to intelligently invest your money for the unexpected rainy days. Investments can provide a means of growth and income when the bottom line is slow. MPL is dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs and local business owners so they can continue to thrive during these unprecedented times.

Small Business Resilience: 2020 has taught us that anything can happen. It is important to be resilient for technology changes, Covid-19, construction in our neighbourhood, to who knows what! Join this workshop to walk through how to be proactive on what might be on the horizon and explore different ways to pivot or even reimagine your business. ZOOM Small Business workshop starts at 7 p.m. on October 7.
Learn about the Teleconference/ Virtual Interview: Learn how to conduct an effective teleconference/online interview, use appropriate body language and speaking voice in a virtual interview and answer behavioural questions effectively. Zoom session starts at 10 a.m. on October 8.
Branding for Small Business on Social Media: Social media is here to stay, so if you’re not already taking advantage of it, then it is important for you to start utilizing these free and dynamic tools to both sustain and grow your small business. ZOOM session starts at 7 pm. on October 30.
