Markham Village Virtual Music Festival

The Markham Village Music Festival returns for its 43rd year.

The Markham Village Virtual Music Festival will take place June 19th and 20th.

The festival will feature over 50 performances including Dear Rouge, Blue Rodeo’s Glenn Milchem, Jane
Siberry, Staggered Crossing’s Julian Taylor, members of Broken Social Scene, Colin MacDonald of The
Trews, Skye Wallace, Wildlife, Dani Strong, Featurette, Ben Hudson, Moscow Apartment, Sultans of
String and Future History. The festival will also feature a Virtual Vendor Village to help support
the many businesses, artisans, and crafters that have partnered with the festival over the years, historic
Markham moments celebrating Markham’s rich history, local business profiles, a
Beat-Box Battle, and more.

This year will be a virtual festival event that reflects the energy, vibe and core values of our
historic street festival while adapting to new technologies in light of current social
circumstances.

This year, the festival will be livestreamed to promote social distancing, and boost
morale in these challenging times.

In addition to boosting morale, the organizers are using the festival as an
opportunity to fundraise for The Unison Benevolent Fund in support of Canadian musicians, and the
Markham and Stouffville Food Banks for families in need in our community.
